TheftScore is an independently maintained UK motorcycle-data observatory. It organises fragmented reports into connected views without turning an incomplete dataset into a personal risk verdict.
Why it exists
Riders can find isolated lists and headlines about motorcycle theft, but it is harder to examine a particular model, place or period and then follow the evidence. TheftScore builds that traversable layer: every summary should lead back to a source, a definition or a more detailed view.
Editorial principles
- Describe registry reports as registry reports—not total crime.
- Keep report volume, licensed stock and official vehicle-crime context separate.
- Show uncertainty and missing classifications instead of guessing.
- Correct material errors visibly and update calculation rules in the methodology.
- Do not label an individual motorcycle or area “safe.”

TheftScore is not Bikers United, Police.uk, DVLA, an insurer or a police service. Source links and the optional AskCarl referral are identified where they appear. They do not determine rankings, classifications or editorial conclusions.
